Providers and regions
Which cloud providers back Venesh Cloud, how their real names are shown, and what differs between them.
We show the real provider
Every plan in the catalog is a real plan from a real provider, shown with the provider's own name and the provider's own plan name. Nothing is renamed or hidden. What you see is what runs your VM.
| Provider | Status |
|---|---|
| OVHcloud | Available |
| Hetzner | Planned |
| AWS | Planned |
| Alibaba Cloud | Planned |
Only OVHcloud can be ordered today. The others are planned: they appear in the catalog and in these docs once they are ready.
Regions are the data-centre locations each provider offers. Which regions and operating systems you can pick depends on the plan.
Differences worth knowing
Every provider behaves a little differently, and where it matters these docs call it out. On OVHcloud:
- Console: the VM's screen is shown right in the page.
- Shrinking a VM: not supported, upgrades only.
- Copying a snapshot at the provider: not supported; create a new VM from the snapshot instead.
- Firewalls and floating IPs: supported, within the provider's quota.
Copying works only for completed snapshots. See Resize a VM, Console access and Copy a snapshot.
Same provider for related features
Resizing a VM, joining a private network, copying a snapshot and creating a VM from a snapshot all stay on the same provider. A VM never moves between providers.
